About Us
How it all Started
Our story starts back in the 1930’s with the brand 4B, which stands for the four Bradley’s, Grandpa Francis Bradley and his three sons. This is when Grandpa Francis Bradley switched from dairy to beef cattle. We started with keeping our cattle on pasture in Lincoln, California during the winters and moving the herd to Sierra Valley, California during the summers.
Francis and his wife Ruth had 6 children who all helped with the daily cattle chores. As a family, they would move the cattle from Lincoln to Sierra Valley and take on every chore in between. As the children grew, the 3 girls’ interest changed, but the 3 son’s continued on in the cattle business. Eventually, Bradley Brothers Cattle continued the tradition that their father Francis Bradley started.
One of the brothers, Jerry Bradley, moved to Chico the attend CSUC, where he got a degree in Beef Science. Jerry’s move allowed them to expand where they had pasture and they were able to start running cattle on pastures in Chico as well as some in Yuba County. Jerry went on to have kids with his wife, Roseann, and were lucky enough to have a son who has interest in the cattle business himself. In 2009, Jerry and his son Nick were able to branch out and develop their own cattle business, Bradley & Son Cattle, LLC. Which continues the tradition of being a family run business that raises quality cattle.
It is a natural progression to share with others what we have always enjoyed ourselves. We started offering our grass-fed grass-finished beef privately to friends and family and decided that we didn’t want to stop there. This is why we created Bradley & Son Grass Fed Beef, so that we can provide our local beef to the communities around us. Our mission at Bradley & Son Grass Fed Beef is to always provide the highest quality, delicious, grass-fed, grass-finished beef to our customers. We not only aim for high quality beef but we strive for great customer service, transparency you can trust, and a product you love.

Cattle Husbandry
We are a family owned and operated black angus cow-calf operation. Through our generational knowledge, we have been able to hone in on raising top quality all natural cattle. Our cattle are grass-fed, grass-finished, antibiotic free, nonGMO, no added hormones, and raised locally in Northern California. We are certified beefCARE which means our cattle management practices are top tier. Our goal is to raise happy healthy cattle using simple practices.
Pasture Management
We move our cattle twice a year from Chico to the Sierra Nevada’s, ensuring the cattle are on the best pasture all year round. In our pastures, we never use fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides. Instead, we use our cattle to manage the grass through rotational grazing. This allows for natural biodiversity and soil health to ensure the longevity of the land. Our practices ensure our cattle have plenty of green grass to eat all year long for generations to come.
“We practice rotational grazing, use no pesticides or fertilizer, protect waterways from intrusion by cattle, and monitor the load on the land during times of drought.” — Nick Bradley, Owner
Quality Beef
Bradley & Son Grass Fed Beef provides beef that is tender, flavorful, nutritious and unmatched. When we say you won’t want beef from anywhere else again, we mean it. Not only is our grass-fed grass-finished beef the real deal, it has a flavor that can’t be beat. Along with being delicious, our beef is all natural and contains higher omega-3, vitamin A, vitamin E, and is leaner without sacrificing flavor or tenderness. When you finished cattle on open pastures instead of grains, they have the opportunity to eat more vitamins and minerals ultimately ensuring a more nutritious cut of beef. You have not had quality grass-finished beef until you’ve tried us.

We use USDA processors for all our beef, this standard ensures quality control and safety for our customers. On our label you may notice the beef packaging state “Park Ranch Meat Co”, “Foothill Meat Company”, or “Chico State Meats Lab”, these are our USDA beef processors. No matter the processor’s name on the packaging you know its our beef when you see the 4B frying pan logo on the label. Our beef comes in two different packaging styles, both allowing our beef to stay fresher longer. Premium steaks are cut 1.25 inch thick, our roasts are 2-4Lbs., and our ground beef comes in 1Lb packages.
Our beef is packaged in 2 ways, we use shrink wrapping and vacuum sealing. Shrink wrap extends shelf life and prevents freezer burn by creating a tight oxygen reducing seal. This protects meat from external contaminants, reduces moisture loss, and provides a clean, puncture-resistant barrier for safe handling. Vacuum sealing extends the shelf life of meat by removing oxygen which prevents freezer burn, inhibits bacterial growth, and stops oxidation. This locks in the meat’s original moisture, tenderness, and flavor for longer. Both methods are reliable for keeping meat safe during handling and ensures a longer shelf life in the freezer.
